The Hosts of Survival and Basic Badassery

Chuck Jaeger lives in Woodstock, NY with his wife and four children. Chuck is a former Life Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. He somehow never accomplished the rank of Eagle Scout stating that he didn’t want to play political games. This seems to be a recurring theme. In 1996 Chuck joined the U.S. Navy as a Electronic Technician servicing onboard the Mighty Warship U.S.S. Vella Gulf. As events in the world unfolded during “Operation Noble Anvil” the liberation of former Yugoslavia and the attacks on September 11, 2001 It became clear that the world may not always be as safe as once believed. As Chuck went further down the rabbit hole he decided to step up his preparedness leading him to the start of The Survival and Basic Badass Podcast with his cohost Kevin in 2015.
Kevin Jaeger was born and raised in the Catskill mountains. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1999 and was stationed in Little Creek VA with Amphibious Construction Battalion 2. He is a journeyman carpenter and works as a water treatment operator. He began the Survival and Basic Badass Podcast with co-host Chuck become more prepared for an uncertain future, and to help the survival and prepping community grow.
